These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Carved in Stone: Arena ("Arena", "the game", "the service"), developed and operated by an individual developer ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the game, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using Arena, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the game.
2. Account Responsibilities
When you create an account, you agree to:
- Provide a valid email address that you own and can access
- Choose a strong, secure password and keep it confidential
- Not share your account credentials with others
- Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
You may create only one account per person. We reserve the right to remove accounts that we reasonably believe are duplicates or created in bad faith.
3. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to engage in any of the following:
- Cheating: Using hacks, modified clients, or any software that provides an unfair advantage
- Exploiting: Knowingly abusing bugs or glitches instead of reporting them
- Botting: Using automated programs or scripts to play the game on your behalf
- Harassment: Threatening, bullying, or engaging in abusive behavior toward other players
- Impersonation: Pretending to be a developer, moderator, or another player
- Unauthorized access: Attempting to access other players' accounts, the server infrastructure, or any non-public systems
- Disruption: Deliberately interfering with the game service or other players' ability to play
This list is not exhaustive. We reserve the right to take action against any behavior that we reasonably consider harmful to the game or its community.
4. Account Termination
We may suspend or permanently ban your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine is harmful to the game or its community. Specifically:
- Temporary suspension: Your account may be suspended for a set period for minor or first-time violations.
- Permanent ban: Your account may be permanently banned for severe violations, repeated offenses, or any behavior that threatens the safety of others.
We will make reasonable efforts to inform you of the reason for any suspension or ban, but are not obligated to do so in all cases. Decisions regarding account termination are at our sole discretion.
5. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time. When you request deletion:
- Your account enters a 30-day grace period during which it is deactivated but not yet deleted.
- During this period, you can cancel the deletion and restore your account by logging in or using the cancellation option.
- After 30 days, your account and all associated data are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

6. Intellectual Property
All game content, including but not limited to artwork, music, code, game mechanics, text, and other assets, is the intellectual property of the developer and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, distribute, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from any game content without explicit written permission. Your use of the game does not grant you any ownership rights to game content.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
Arena is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. The game is under active development and may include features that are incomplete, experimental, or subject to change.
We do not warrant that:
- The game will be available at all times or without interruption
- The game will be free of bugs, errors, or security vulnerabilities
- Game data, including characters, items, or progress, will be preserved indefinitely
- Any particular feature or content will remain in the game
Game content, features, and balance may change at any time, including changes that affect your characters, items, or progress. During development phases (alpha, beta, or otherwise), data resets may occur.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of game data, characters, items, or progress
- Loss of access to your account
- Service interruptions or downtime
- Any damages arising from unauthorized access to your account
Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Arena shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, which, as the game is free, is zero.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Arena shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Illinois.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Arena after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you through the game or via email.
